It's your weekly dose of clarity and insight on all things tech & business from Dream in Digital! Each week, I'm here to share my thoughts to help you make the most of today's technology and build a business that genuinely supports the life you want to live.
This Week’s Core Focus:
The Synergy of Search
In the world of digital marketing, and “search” specifically, it can be easy to get caught up in all of the jargon. That’s where it becomes my job to help you understand the essential things you need to know for each area, and how they can come together to give your business the results you need. Let’s dive a little deeper into common search marketing strategies…
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): This is the practice of optimizing your website to rank higher in "organic" (unpaid) search results. It’s about building long-term authority and digital “equity," so that your ideal clients find you naturally, over time.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM): This refers to using paid strategies (like Google Ads) to gain visibility. It allows you to "rent" the top spot on search results immediately, making it a great tool for testing new ideas, or driving traffic to a specific launch, while your SEO matures.
The Power of Both: When used together, SEM provides the immediate data and traffic you need to grow today, while SEO builds the sustainable foundation that will support your business (and your lifestyle) for years to come.
Tech Tip of the Week:
Your Search Strategy Toolkit
The Problem: Managing your search presence without data is like driving without directions. You know you're moving, but you aren't sure where you're going.
The Solution: Get in touch with these three essential (and free!) Google tools to gain more clarity for your company’s search strategy:
Google Search Console: This measures the present. It shows you exactly which keywords people are currently using to find your specific site and alerts you to any technical health issues.
Google Keyword Planner: Located in Google Ads, this helps you plan the future. It shows you what the broader market is searching for, how much competition there is, and helps you choose the right "battles" to fight for new content and placement.
Google Analytics (GA4): This tracks the result. Once people find you via SEO or SEM, Analytics shows you what they do on your site, and if they are actually converting into leads.
How This Helps: By using these tools in tandem, you stop guessing and start making data-backed decisions that grow your business efficiently. Use Keyword Planner to pick your targets, Search Console to see if you're hitting them, and Analytics to ensure that this search traffic is actually helping you grow.
