Is Your Business Tech Holding You Back?
August 14, 2025
Why less is more when it comes to your business tools.
It's your weekly dose of clarity and insight on all things tech & business from Dream in Digital! Each week, I'm here to share my thoughts to help you make the most of today's technology and build a business that genuinely supports the life you want to live.
This Week’s Core Focus:
Digital Minimalism
It’s easy to get caught up in shiny new platforms and endless software subscriptions, but the most powerful and sustainable path is to embrace the philosophy of Digital Minimalism. This philosophy is centered around a mindful and intentional approach to technology that focuses on tools that truly add value to your life and business. By being deliberate with every tool you use, ensuring each one serves a clear purpose, and making sure they all work together harmoniously to build a streamlined tech stack, you can avoid the unnecessary complexity and cost that often comes when dealing with tech. At its core, the true power lies in realizing that what you have is often enough, and the key is learning how to use your current tools more effectively to achieve your goals.
Audit Your Tools: Take an honest look at your current subscriptions & software. Are you using every feature of every tool? Are there redundancies you can eliminate? Sometimes it helps to have an expert review things too, so they can tell you the “lay of the land” and help you consolidate.
Consolidate with Purpose: Find platforms that do more than one thing well. Tools like Wix and Google Workspace are great examples of how you can consolidate your website, marketing, and internal operations into one or two seamless platforms.
Prioritize Integration: When you do need a new tool, ask yourself: Does it integrate easily with the systems you already have? This simple question prevents future headaches and saves you time.
Tech Tip of the Week:
Aligning Your Google Workspace for Maximum Focus
The Problem: Your digital tools and information are scattered, making it difficult to focus on one project or client at a time and costing you valuable mental energy.
The Solution: Stop thinking of each Google Workspace app as a separate tool and start thinking of, and using them, as a connected suite of resources. To do this, create a consistent organizational system using separate Folders in Google Drive, Labels in Gmail, Task Lists in Google Tasks, Labels in Keep Notes, and even having dedicated Spaces in Google Chat for each client and business division.
How This Helps: This system allows you to easily see the division between each area of your business and your different clients, so you can quickly recall all the necessary resources and dedicate your full attention to a specific client or section of your business. This focused approach reduces clutter and enables you to have more intentional and impactful work sessions.
