Your Path to Digital Clarity

July 3, 2025

A 15-minute fix for your messy Google Drive.

It's your weekly dose of clarity and insight on all things tech & business from Dream in Digital! Each week, I'm here to share my thoughts to help you make the most of today's technology and build a business that genuinely supports the life you want to live.

This Week’s Core Focus:

This is Happening!

What We’re Up To:

Personal:

It's still early, but I'm really starting to notice the internal mindset shift I'm having from "is this happening?" to "this is happening!" It's a subtle change, but it means all the difference going from ambiguity in the face of reality, to certainty in the face of uncertainty. Believing that you can will something to succeed, regardless of what the future may hold, is the true secret of successful entrepreneurs...

Business:

First off, we got a bit too excited last week when our newsletter surpassed 100 subscribers that we forgot to take a moment to say THANK YOU! Thank you, to everyone who subscribed and is reading & engaging with the newsletter, we'd love to hear your feedback!

Another thing we've been diving more into lately is testing out Project Management tools, and working to build out our internal systems better. With so many to choose from, and all of them seeming to do very similar things, we've been working to compare the likes of Monday, ClickUp, Asana, Trello, and Google Workspace (to name a few), to see which tool will help us serve our clients best for our service-based business.

Tech Tip of the Week:

Declutter Your Digital Workspace

The Problem:

Feeling overwhelmed by a messy digital workspace? A cluttered Google Drive, filled with old files, duplicates, and unorganized documents, can slow you down, create stress, and make finding what you need a real headache. It pulls you away from what's truly important for your business.

The Solution:

Dedicate 15 minutes this week to a quick digital declutter.

Step 1: Select all of those miscellaneous files currently in your Google "My Drive" and put them all into a new folder called "Old Drive (Messy)" - you can go through this later and add each file to its correct "bucket" another day.

Step 2: Create core folders for all of your business's main "divisions" - as modeled in the image above.

Step 3: Start moving important files into their proper "bucket" by right clicking on the file you want to move, going to "Organize" and then click "Move" (Shortcut is Ctrl + Alt + M ; Once the file is selected)

Remember: A little bit every week goes a long way!

How This Helps:

This isn't just about tidiness; it's about efficiency and focus. A clean digital workspace, much like a minimalist physical one, reduces distractions and helps you get work done.

For those of you asking, "Isn't that what the search feature and filtering in Google Drive is for?"

1. Oftentimes, you may not even know what your file name is, or what you're looking for, so having this organized folder structure helps you quickly narrow things down to find what you need more efficiently.

2. Having dedicated folders and subfolders for your files is paramount to making sure that things stay organized as you scale, and it allows you to properly manage folder & file permissions when collaborating with others as you grow your team, work with new clients, etc.

Remember: You're not just organizing your digital files, you're organizing your entire business and building systems for success!

Quote of the Week:

"Be It, and You Are It!"

A Question for You:

Do you believe that you can succeed, regardless of what the future may hold?

This "figure it out" problem-solving mindset is often the hallmark of great entrepreneurs, so you best believe you can!

Until next week,
