The Power of Purposeful Writing
In the rush to stay relevant on social media and other trending channels, many entrepreneurs overlook the most valuable real estate they own: their website. Having a blog, articles, a newsletter, and/or case studies on your website isn’t just a vehicle for sharing your ideas, it’s one of the best ways to bridge the gap between your expertise and the people who need it most. When you create valuable content on your own platform, you're building a permanent asset that drives search traffic and deepens the human connection with your brand. Write for Humans, Optimize for Search: Quality writing meets the reader where they’re at by addressing real problems. From here, you can optimize your words for search engines to help people find your solutions to their problems.
Build Authority by Adding Value: When you provide solutions to people’s problems, people begin to trust you. Being consistently helpful doesn’t just allow you to add value, it also proves that your brand is a reliable partner in their own journey.
Control the User-Flow: Once you’ve added value and captured your audience’s attention, make sure you’re directing them to take an action that brings them closer to your brand. Whether that’s asking them to subscribe to your email list, or maybe even purchase your product or service, it’s your job to gently guide the reader to take the next step.

The "AI-Partner" Writing Workflow
The Problem: Finding the mental space to consistently create high-value content is difficult when you’re balancing the daily demands of running a business.
The Solution: Use a structured, balanced, approach that leverages AI as a collaborative partner to move from a blank page to a published asset, without losing your unique voice.
Step 1: Framework First — Don’t start with a blank document. Use a template to define your “street lines.” It’s much easier to “drive” when you know where the road is.
Step 2: Source from Reality — Reflect on your recent client conversations or common prospect questions. The best content isn't invented; it’s often a reflection of the real problems your company is already solving.
Step 3: The AI First Draft — Once you have your idea and template, let AI generate the first draft. Don’t expect perfection, if anything, expect the opposite! Simply treat this as a low-stakes way to get the wheels turning. It’s often easier to react to a draft you don't like, than to stare at a page you haven't started.
Step 4: Review and Iterate — While AI can help with the structure and to get the ideas flowing, your mind should craft the final narrative. In my experience, I still end up writing about 75%+ of the final piece, but using AI gives me the momentum to get there.
Step 5: Final Feedback & Publishing — Using AI for a final sanity check or as a feedback loop/validation is often a great way to help quiet the perfectionist/imposter syndrome voice that often prevents us from hitting publish. Remember, you should always have the final say on what you share with the world, but you still need to share it!
How This Helps: These are the steps I’ve been using to write The Digital Update, and I truly believe that they’re what have helped me come back to writing every week for the last 36 weeks! Plus, as someone who is a perfectionist, I also feel like this is the best way to balance crafting something original and authentic, but in a way that’s efficient enough to allow me to consistently share my ideas with the world and help others — which is the whole point!
